Stability testing in chairs without armsupports

Chairs stability is an important property of this kind of furniture so its testing has found a place in JUS propositions. It has been interesting to examine closely alt the problems of testing the chair. when used. And this was one of the main purposes of this work. The stability testing of chairs without armsupports has been discussed. As an adequate equipment such as proposed by JUS could not be applied, a square weight of 83,5 kg was used. A dynamometer of 20 kp with divisions of 0,5 kp was used far measuring force. Four kinds of chairs have been tested. The author has tried to estimate chairs stability and to compare the results obtained by estimation with those experimentally gained. Certain difficulties in measuring stability have been noticed. The author gives his suggestions 10 improve the propositions of JUS standards.
