Wood boards as construction material with mechanical function

Elementary mechanical, physical and some technological properties of 13 different timber board have been examined - as plywood, blockboards and different particleboard and fibreboard types. ln a comparative form and mutual correlative connection, graphs are made and examination results are analysed for density, bending strength, modulus of elasticity, bending stifness, tensile strength, shock resistance, screw withdrawal resistance, liquid water absorption and swelling. The conclusion is given by noticing that it is very hard to define some boards type as inferior or superior in relation to each other unless simultaneously its purpose has been determined.
