Quality factors of chairs

The results of chair durability-firmness examination as one of the main factors
for the quality of chairs have been presented in the article. The aim of investigation is to define the dependance of chair quality on the type of chair construction, i.e. to determine the degree of construction influence upon the mechanical factors of chair quality. The JUS standards of chair quality examination have been taken as criteria for the definition of quality degree. From the results obtained a certain dependance of chair durability - firmness on its construction has become evident but at the same time the quality od workmanship has been an equally important factor for chair quality. Therefore in further investigations both factors should be considered simultaneously on a greater number of specimens. The obtained data could be usefully applied- to the determination of critical construction point considering the cases examined ·and the loading applied in the course of examination.
