Manufacture and application of cementbonded particleboards

The article deals with the development of technology for panel material based on wood and cement. Particular stress has been given to the interdependence of wood and cement and their influence on the final quality of finished boards.

The article further deals with the technological process in phases of production, providing approximate standards for the production of one cubic meter of finished boards. Since it is a material intended for building construction, all principal physical and elastic-mechanical properties (Table 2) interesting for constructors and designers have been detailed. Finally, a wide range of applications for these boards in building construction has been stated, considering the following criteria: behavior to fire, water, and moisture; resistance to fungi attack and decay; sound and thermal insulation; workability; surface finishing; elastic and mechanical properties.
