Abstract:
The article deals with the concept of density and its importance for particleboards. It describes and shows the Stevens instrument for the determination of the density of a layer of particleboard and similar boards up to 0.25 mm thickness. It also presents a method for the determination of the quality coefficient of wood, i.e., the relation between strength and density of material. It is possible to apply the quality coefficient as an indicator of the particleboard quality.
