Application of h,w - diagram of moist wood for establishing its thermal changes

Abstract:
This article deals with thermal processes in conversion of wood and application of h,w - diagram of moist wood for their solution. These are, on the one hand, thermal processes during which the moist of wood is not changing - heating and cooling of wood - and on the other hand, processes during which the moisture of wood is changing - drying, moisturizing by cooking, steaming and by humid air. Basic relations are made out for the brought in theoretic heat, total unit heat for 1 kg of dry wood, and the unit heat for the change of moistness for 1 kg; these values relate only to dry wood. In all cases the use of h,w - diagram of moist wood have been indicated for solution of adequate relations, the analytic solution of which calls for complex calculations and usage of tables which often are not available to a practical technician. Comparison of analytic and graphic solutions of the case shows significant reduction of time for solutions and by this the increased productivity by using h,w - diagrarn of moist wood. In this work the two concrete examples have been calculated.
