Effect of axial form and distribution of qualitative zones of unstandard beech round logs on technology and utilization

This article discusses a problem of outer the characteristics and interior distribution of o qualitative zones of unstandard beech round logs (fig. 2). Beside the mentioned characteristics, a quantitative utilization on the same logs has been examined, which amounted to 27,8% when converted into work pieces 50 x 50 x 900 mm. Furthermore, it has been proposed that technology of conversion of beech unstandard round logs should be conceived as a 2-stage one. Primary conversion of logs with preliminary made bearing has been carried out by means of multiply-blade circular saws.
