Abstract:
The curing reaction of adhesives can be examined by methods of Differential Thennal Analysis. Furfuryl alcohol resin was mixed with particles of various popular species, and the curing reactions of unfilled and filled resins were examined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry. The activation energies of reactions were calculated from the data on the rate heating. By comparing the values of activation energies, information was obtained on the influence of wood and its chemical properties, particularly pH value on the acid catalysed curing.
