Title:
On the chemism of endocarp of some forest trees and bushes
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
The cellulose, lignin, pentosan and mineral contents have been determined in the endocarp of pine tree (Pinus pinea L .) fruits, walnut (Juglans regia L.) nut, black walnut (Juglans rugra L.) nut, black-thorn (Prunus spinosa L .) fruits, dogwood (Cornus mas L .) fruits, hazel (Corylus avellana L .) nuts and almond (Amygdalus communis L .) nuts. The experimental results bring to a conclusion that the analyzed endocarps can be used as potential raw material for the production of lignin resins, furfural, active coal and panels in timber industry.
