Sawmilling technology development

The article deals with the possible ways of further development of sawmilling industry in Yugoslavia, having in mind present technology and trends for a higher use of sawmilling products by the industry of final wood products. Sawmilling techinology of oak dimension stocks mostly furniture parts for the known final products and buyers will be probably in expansion. The sawmills will have to introduce new and modern machinery, electronic technology, such as: devices and instruments for automatic measuring of logs, positioning of logs prior to sawing, optimal saw blade arrangement (if the frame saws are used), optimal way of cutting lumber into dimensions and kiln drying.
