Primjena laserskog razdvajanja u tehnologiji obrade masivnog drva

Laser cutting of timber is one of unconventional methods of »sawing« tirnber. In this respect the initial investigations of laser cutting of timber tehnique have been made in this country. A laser of an output of approx. 600 W was used and tested on oak boards, thickness 25 mm. Maximum possible speed of boards for thorough cutting was abt. 0.5 m/min. Water content in wood varied from 10% to 30% . No significant effects of moisture content of wood on feed speed were noticed. A carbonized layer developing from this procedure did not penetrate more than 0.30 mm inside the cut board. The feed speed during cutting effects considerably the quality of separated areas.
