This paper presents the results of investigation of the effects of water content on electric resistance in the wood and on the basis of these results the electric hygrometers HGR-100 and HGR-30 Fn have been designed in IETA, RIZ Zagreb. The mentioned two hygrometers are the fourth generation of such instruments designed for the requirements of timber and wood industry.
