Title:
Comparative analysis of application of CNC and conventional line for finalization of solid wood parts in production of fronts for kitchen furniture
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
In the article, on a concrete example of finalization of parts from solid wood for kitchen furniture fronts, a marginal volume of series has been investigated with equalized costs of finalization per product unit on a numerically adjustable line and conventional line. Furthermore, the effect of production program structure, the amount of investments in equipment, spare parts and tools and the time required on both performance variants of machine equipment has been examined. From the results obtained, it can be determined a marginal volume of series for the ordered volume of one model of fronts with equalized costs of manufacture on by hand or by computer adjustable machine line. It has been established in the study that for a concrete example determined machine line has its justifiability, however, purchasing of similar equipment should be carefully considered, since the purchase of excessive electronic equipment raise the cost of investment and moves the cost limits of manufacture in favour of conventional equipment. Similar negative effects grow out from computer adjustable line if used in classic manner, i.e. a conventional line.
