Title:
Production of Locust veneer (Robinia Pseudoacacia L.)
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
The paper presents the investigations carried out on Black Locust conversion into sliced veneer on machines on connecting rod drive. In a hydrothermal preparation of Black Locust the water and steam (indirect) heating has been applied. The most satisfactory temperatures of wood for conversion into quality veneers have been determined, also the modes of production for kiln-drying of veneers in drying chambers with continuous belt conveyors and built-in nozzles. Utilization of Locust wood in production of veneer has been determined. The paper shows also the results of finishing of veneers with domestic lacquers without preimpregnation. The individual veneer samples have been tested with standard tests for lacquer finishing. The test results were satisfactory.
