Abstract:
The paper describes the results of calculation of internal stresses appearing on cross section of timber in initial stage of drying. The investigation was conducted in production conditions on beech workpieces of cross section 50 X 50 mm. By comparison of allowed and calculated values of internal stresses it was established that in drying conditions as shown in the paper there was no danger of drying defects.
