Title:
Strength test on round tenon joints
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
The paper deals with the strength of glued corner joints performed on hardwoods by joining by round tenon in longitudinal hole. Five samples have been covered by these tests carried out by technique of pressing into and grooving of joints. The samples have been tested by static pull-out load and moment of power. The results indicate that there is a link between the shape and the extent of pressing into and the manufacture of the tenon, joint strength expressed by shearing stress, if examined within a relatively small gap deviation. The above results are important when applied in designing of furniture and products used in construction industry and in further development of discursive methods in wood constructing.
