Structure, properties and use of water bed (I)

The paper deals with structure, technical properties and use of water bed. Particular attention has been paid to the results obtained from the researches in the world compared to standard bed constructions. There is no doubt that water with its hydraulic properties is suitable as a medium which can evenly support the body, i.e. provides for a comfortable lying. The fact that it can adjust to the shapes of body without making extra pressure to other body zones and thus not disturbing blood circulation, made the water bed welcome in homes, hotels and particularly in hospitals.
