Title:

Architectonic and technological aspects of cyclic windows, doors and glass walls

Research subject and fields:
Abstract:

The tendencies of increased use of cyclic decorative elements and building openings have been discussed in this article. It has been established that by reducing glass surfaces on facades during the last 10 years, new, mainly cyclic decorative and functional elements have appeared representing a form of architectonic creative liberty. Circular and semicircular windows, doors and glass walls are not industrial products, there are no offers covering these products available on the market. Thus, the conclusion was that timber industry restricts and does not follow the trends in architecture and construction industry in Yugoslavia although as far as the technology and economy is concerned, there are all possibilities for their prefabrication.
