Title:
Climate and natural wood drying
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
The paper offers, for the first time, a condensed presentation of the work »Climate and Natural Wood Drying« (Dimitrov, 1989, manuscript). Natural wood drying is discussed from the meteorological standpoint only. Tables of monthly average values of equilibrium moisture content of wood were drawn up following the Loughborough-Keylwerth diagram combined with 20-year series of meteorological values (air temperature and relative humidity) taken at 109 meteorological observatories in Croatia and other republics of former Yugoslavia. The tables provide the basis for original maps of regional distribution of monthly equilibrium moisture contents and the annual average for the overall 20-year period. The isolines are termed »lignoisohygres« following J. Krpan (1965).
