Title:
Effect of some technological parameters on the gluing quality of laminated window profiles
Research subject and fields:
Abstract:
This paper investigates the influence of some technological parameters (quantity of glue spread, assembly period and pressing period) of the gluing quality of fir/spruce window profiles. Fir/spruce lamellae were glued together with two types of twocomponent adhesive. The quality of the glue bond was determined on 50 mm long blocks cut from window frame profiles. The delaminaton test was carried out following the application of soaking cycles at various temperatures. The blocks exhibited delamination over 0-9% of the overall length of the glue line on the end-grain surfaces. The combination of gluing parameters and their values which assures optimal gluing results is directly applicable in the manufacturing process.
