Physical and mechanical properties of extruded and laminated extruded particleboards

This study presents test results of extruded and laminated extruded particleboards. Physical and mechanical properties and perforation value were tested in accordance with DIN standards. The results relative to perforation value, physical and mechanical properties of extruded and laminated particleboards were analysed, and particular attention was paid to water absorption and swelling of extruded particleboards. The perforation value of the examined samples refer our extruded and laminated extruded particleboards to the class El. The mechanical properties of the examined samples tally with DIN standards. On the basis of the results obtained a considerable influence of density and thickness on water absorption and swelling of extruded particleboards has been established.
