The paper presents the results of an investigation, into the strength of angle joints in chairs made of beech and pine. The results show that the same type of joint may not be equally well used for structures made of different wood species. The tightness of a joint contributes to its strength. The corner locking joint of two tenons does not present an improvement over a mitered joint of two tenons.
