Description of the current state of air conveyors according to a survey of the Croatian furniture woodworking companies

Air conveyors performance is necessary to control, continuously adjust to changes during production, increase efficiency. The aim of the survey was to describe the actual state of air conveyors work in different Croatian furniture woodworking companies. The modernisation of air conveyors and other machines and equipment, is still to be done, especially in 27% of the surveyed companies where the air conveyor systems are older then 20 years. Less than half of them (43%) have plans to improve efficiency of their air conveyors. 22% of companies have partly automated their regulation of the air conveyor svstems, and one quarter (24%) has found the way to reduce electrical energy consumption most favourably. Wood residues are used in 77% of all companies for producing heat energy, and 12% dispose of it in landfills. Fire alarm devices are not present in more than 58% of all the companies, in spite of the fact that the danger of fire and explosion is present in all furniture manufacturing companies.
