Croatian wood processing firms and water pollution

The waters around us are polluted. There are more and more polluted waste waters discharged from industrial plants to waterflows. Croatian wood processing plants are among the environmental aware industrial branches. The percentage of purified waste waters discharged into water flows from wood processing plants, furniture production plants and pulp and paper production plants is increasing. A significant improvement in purifying waste waters may be noticed in the period 1994-1997 for pulp and paper production plants. There have been significantly increased investments in environment protection activities in the last few years. Among these activities there are activities regarding water protection.
